The Training

Yoga has always held birth, life, death and rebirth.

Every yoga class ends in savasana, a quiet practice of letting go. The School of Sacred Transitions carries that practice to the bedside.

Over twelve months, you'll learn to accompany people and families through aging, grief and the end of life, letting the body lead. Angel's hope isn't to teach you to do what she does. It's to help you trust the wisdom that already lives in your body.

A Yoga Alliance–registered 300-hour training (RYS 300) that builds on your 200-hour foundation.

  • Trauma-informed yoga and somatics
  • Christ-centered contemplative practice
  • Spiritual companionship
  • Grief and bereavement
  • End-of-life doula practice
  • Caregiver support
  • Adaptive, accessible movement
  • Nervous-system-informed care

Who It's For

For those who sense there is more to yoga.

  • Seasoned yoga teachers who have lived some life and are natural caregivers
  • Hospice and other nurses with a yoga background
  • Yoga therapists and somatic or holistic practitioners
  • Those who took a 200-hour training to deepen their own practice
  • End-of-life doulas, and those just beginning to feel the call
  • Anyone walking with an aging parent or loved one right now

Rooted in Christ-centered contemplative practice, and open to all. You do not need to be Christian to belong here.

What Graduates Receive

Become an Embodied End-of-Life Doula

Whether you already serve as an end-of-life doula or are just beginning to feel the call, there is a place for you here.

Credential From Yoga Alliance

Yoga Alliance–registered 300-hour training

The School of Sacred Transitions is a Registered Yoga School (RYS 300). With your 200-hour training, you'll be eligible to register as an RYT 500, a credential for teaching yoga.

Credential From Temple Road Journey

Temple Road Journey certification as an Embodied End-of-Life Doula

Awarded by Temple Road Journey to graduates who complete the program. It is separate from Yoga Alliance registration, and like all doula credentials, it is not a state license.

Scope of Practice

Graduates are prepared to offer compassionate, non-medical support to individuals and families navigating dying, death, and grief. Their practice may include emotional and spiritual presence, compassionate listening, and appropriate somatic, yogic, and contemplative practices that support comfort, dignity, and meaningful connection.

The role of the Embodied End-of-Life Doula is one of accompaniment, not clinical intervention. Graduates do not diagnose medical or mental health conditions, prescribe or provide medical treatment, or replace licensed healthcare, mental health, hospice, or palliative care professionals. They work within their training, ethical responsibilities, and professional scope of practice, collaborating with other care providers when appropriate.

Questions

Frequently asked Questions

Do I have to be Christian?

No. The training is rooted in Christ-centered contemplative practice, and we also explore how people across many cultures have honored death and dying. You do not need to be Christian to belong here.

Do I need to be teaching yoga right now?

No. Many people complete a 200-hour training to deepen their own practice. What you need is a completed 200-hour training and a sense that this work is calling you.

Does my 200-hour training need to be registered with Yoga Alliance?

Your training needs to be from a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200), and we'll ask for proof of completion. You do not need to be currently registered with Yoga Alliance yourself.

Is this medical training? Will I be a certified end-of-life doula?

No, this is not medical training. Graduates offer non-medical accompaniment: presence, comfort, and somatic and contemplative practices, alongside hospice and healthcare teams. When you complete the program, you'll receive Temple Road Journey certification as an Embodied End-of-Life Doula. It is separate from your Yoga Alliance registration. Doula credentials aren't state licenses; each one reflects the training behind it.

Can I register with Yoga Alliance when I finish?

Yes. This is a Yoga Alliance–registered 300-hour training (RYS 300). Together with your 200-hour training, you'll be eligible to register as an RYT 500. Your Embodied End-of-Life Doula certification comes from Temple Road Journey, not Yoga Alliance.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. Payment plans are available, and Angel will walk you through the options on your discovery call.

How many people will be in the cohort?

The founding cohort is limited to 10 students, so everyone is known and supported.

What technology do I need?

Live sessions are held on Zoom or a similar video platform, with your camera on when possible. Course materials are online, and you'll take part in discussions and small breakout groups.

Can I talk with Angel before I enroll?

Yes, please do. After you join the waitlist, you'll be invited to book a 20-minute call. You can also write to Angel at angel@templeroadjourney.com.
